Mackenzie’s Story

Mackenzie Miller grew up in Edina, Minnesota - much of her time spent on a basketball court, at the go-kart track or at summer camp. She studied business at the University of Minnesota, was a member of Alpha Phi sorority and did a semester abroad in London. An eight-year career at adidas is what initially brought her to Portland but she quickly fell in love with the laidback vibes of the city and beautiful outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. An ideal Saturday for her includes a trip to the dog park, iced coffee on tap and an outdoor concert.

Chris’s Story

Chris Hui was born and raised in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin - like many children who grew up in the 1990s, he loved Pokemon, pro wrestling, and playing sports. He studied business and design at the University of Minnesota, and spent much of this time creating one-of-a-kind sneakers through his business C2 Customs. After graduating, he was able to translate this passion for sneakers into a full time footwear design career at adidas in Portland, Oregon. As a man of many tastes and talents, he prefers dogs over cats, pasta over pizza, Rodgers over Favre.

Our Relationship

Mackenzie and Chris met in Portland, Oregon in 2013 and quickly became good friends. The two started dating in 2014 and what followed were seven years of adventures - including a first apartment together on SE Belmont Ave, a few years in Nuremberg, Germany and presently back in Portland in their first home with their dog Drama! A shared love for travel, food, music and sneakers have kept the two close. They got engaged in February 2020 on the Oregon Coast and cannot wait to get married this summer back in the midwest.
